SPACE FACTS

Humans have always looked at the heavens and wondered about the nature of the objects seen in the night sky. With the development of rockets and the advances in electronics and other technologies in the 20th century, it became possible to send machines and animals and then people above Earth’s atmosphere into outer space. Well before technology made these achievements possible, however, space exploration had already captured the minds of many people, not only aircraft pilots and scientists but also writers and artists. The strong hold that space travel has always had on the imagination may well explain why professional astronauts and laypeople alike consent at their great peril, in the words of Tom Wolfe in The Right Stuff (1979), to sit “on top of an enormous Roman candle, such as a Redstone, AtlasTitan or Saturn rocket, and wait for someone to light the fuse.” It perhaps also explains why space exploration has been a common and enduring theme in literature and art. As centuries of speculative fiction in books and more recently in films make clear, “one small step for [a] man, one giant leap for mankind” was taken by the human spirit many times and in many ways before Neil Armstrong stamped humankind’s first footprint on the Moon.

In addition to providing security benefits, satellites offered military forces the potential for improved communications, weather observation, navigation, timing, and position location. This led to significant government funding for military space programs in the United States and the Soviet Union. Although the advantages and disadvantages of stationing force-delivery weapons in space have been debated, as of the early 21st century, such weapons had not been deployed, nor had space-based antisatellite systems—that is, systems that can attack or interfere with orbiting satellites. The stationing of weapons of mass destruction in orbit or on celestial bodies is prohibited by international law.

FOOD Factory

The food industry is a complex, global network of diverse businesses that supplies most of the food consumed by the world's population. The term food industries covers a series of industrial activities directed at the production, distribution, processing, conversion, preparation, preservation, transport, certification and packaging of foodstuffs. The food industry today has become highly diversified, with manufacturing ranging from small, traditional, family-run activities that are highly labor-intensive, to large, capital-intensive and highly mechanized industrial processes. Many food industries depend almost entirely on local agriculture, produce, or fishing.[1]

It is challenging to find an inclusive way to cover all aspects of food production and sale. The UK Food Standards Agency describes it as "the whole food industry – from farming and food production, packaging and distribution, to retail and catering."[2] The Economic Research Service of the USDA uses the term food system to describe the same thing, stating: "The U.S. food system is a complex network of farmers and the industries that link to them. Those links include makers of farm equipment and chemicals as well as firms that provide services to agribusinesses, such as providers of transportation and financial services. The system also includes the food marketing industries that link farms to consumers, and which include food and fiber processors, wholesalers, retailers, and foodservice establishments."[3] The food industry includes:

Agriculture: raising crops, livestock, and seafood. Agricultural economics.

Manufacturing: agrichemicals, agricultural construction, farm machinery and supplies, seed, etc.

Food processing: preparation of fresh products for market, and manufacture of prepared food products

Marketing: promotion of generic products (e.g., milk board), new products, advertising, marketing campaigns, packaging, public relations, etc.

Wholesale and food distribution: logistics, transportation, warehousing

Foodservice (which includes catering)

Grocery, farmers' markets, public markets and other retailing

Regulation: local, regional, national, and international rules and regulations for food production and sale, including food quality, food security, food safety, marketing/advertising, and industry lobbying activities

Education: academic, consultancy, vocational

Research and development: food science, food microbiology, food technology, food chemistry, and food engineering

                                                                food is every thing

 Save Water Save Earth

Saving Water is Similar to Saving the Planet

Water is the most basic need for life. Our Earth, the blue planet, is blessed to have a water reserve. It makes lives possible. However, water is not an unlimited resource. There are many parts of the planet where fresh water for drinking and using is scarce. Though the newspapers and televisions tell a lot about water scarcity in different parts of the world, many people waste it regularly. It is the time to stand united and aware one and all to save water.

The Threat to Survival

Almost 97.5% of the water reserve of the Earth is locked in oceans and seas. This water is extremely salty for human use. Again, a majority of the rest of the 2.5% freshwater remains in the ice caps. Only 1% of the available water is fit for human consumption. To add to the threat, many portions of the world are suffering from regular droughts. Poor people need to walk many miles to collect drinkable water, which they store for use. While wasting water, everyone must try to imagine the hardships that numerous people face due to water scarcity.

The Problem

Water is not only essential for drinking. It is essential for almost every day to day activity. This includes washing, cleaning, and cooking. Even in the agricultural sector, it is essential for crop production and livestock feeding. Also, in the industries, water is essential for producing various goods, including clothes, foods, and even biofuels. This is taking up a lot of fresh water supply.

Water Pollution Adds to the Woe

Water pollution is another threat that the world is facing. In countries like India, water bodies like rivers, ponds, and lakes are getting polluted alarmingly. People, especially living in rural belts, have a habit of cleaning their utensils, washing their clothes, and even bathing in the nearby ponds and rivers. They also frequently take their cattle there to wash them. This leads to a lot of water pollution. Also, in the urban areas, the industries use the rivers to dump their waste materials. This makes a considerable amount of freshwater wasted.

Little Measures for Big Difference

In countries having a vast population like India, it is a big challenge to everyone aware of the necessity to save water. However, even a little bit of effort from every individual can help save a lot of freshwater. And such measures are so simple that everyone can make it. For example:

  1. Fix the leaky taps in the house immediately.

  2. Do not keep the tap open when not using it. Also, it is important not to turn off the tap while brushing teeth.

  3. Save up the used clothes and dirty upholsteries for a while. Consider loading the washing machine full, rather than washing clothes in two half loads. This saves an enormous amount of water.

  4. Use a low flush toilet, or use the good old buckets for flushing. The new age dual flush systems are designed to use minimum water. This gives us a good reason to replace our old flush systems.

  1. Change the cooking methods. Steamed food items retain most of the natural nutrients in food. Also, steaming can cut down on water consumption for cooking. While boiling foods, we can keep the water and use it as stock later on. We can also cool down the water and use it to water the household plants.

  2. The big hotels, residential buildings, and many public places have their premises splashed with beautiful fountains. However, these fountains lead to considerable wastage of water.

  3. Reducing the shower time can cut down on unnecessary wastage of water. Optimally, we can try limiting our shower time to 5-6 minutes.

  4. During the rainy season, collecting rainwater for use in flushing, watering plants and washing clothes can be a practical effort.

  5. Watering the lawn regularly leads to a lot of water usage. A number of the expert's advice to make it less frequently, especially during the rainy season and in the winter. Also, try watering either in the early morning or after the sunset.

Violence against women

  • Violence against women – particularly intimate partner violence and sexual violence –
  •  is a major public health problem and a violation of women's human rights.
  • Estimates published by WHO indicate that globally about (30%) of women worldwide
  • have been subjected to either physical and/or sexual intimate partner violence or
  • non-partner sexual violence in their lifetime.
  • Most of this violence is intimate partner violence. Worldwide, almost one third (27%) of
  • women
  • aged 15-49 years who have been in a relationship report that they have been subjected
  • to some
  • form of physical and/or sexual violence by their intimate partner.
  • Violence can negatively affect women’s physical, mental, sexual, and reproductive
  • and
  • may increase the risk of acquiring HIV in some settings.
  • Violence against women is preventable. The health sector has an important role to
  • play to provide comprehensive health care to women subjected to violence,
  • and as an entry point for referring women to other support services they may need.

  • Scope of the problem
  • Population-level surveys based on reports from survivors provide the most accurate

Freelancer is an online outsourcing platform that puts clients and businesses in contact with a global network of freelancers. Any member can post a project, whether a short- or long-term job, and choose from skilled freelancers who offer bid proposals with rate quotes and time estimates for completing the work.

What Is Freelancing? Definition and Meaning

Essentially, a freelance job is one where a person works for themselves, rather than for a company. While freelancers do take on contract work for companies and organizations, they are ultimately self-employed.

Freelancers are responsible for all sorts of things that traditional employees are not, such as setting their work hours, keeping track of time spent on different projects, billing clients, and paying their own employment and business taxes. Freelancers are not considered “employees” by the companies they work for, but rather “contractors.”

Ways to Say “Freelancer”

When you’re searching for freelance jobs, there are a number of different terms to be aware of. These can help you find freelance job openings, and they’re also useful when describing yourself and the work you do to potential clients.

  • Contract work: Jobs where you’re a temporary contract worker, rather than a permanent employee.
  • Contract job: Same as contract work.
  • Independent contractor: Another common way to say freelancer, but your work terms are specified by a contract with another company or individual.
  • 1099: Refers to the IRS form an independent contractor fills out, form 1099-MISC, and is often used to describe the job (“This is a 1099 contract role”).
  • Contract consultant: Someone who is hired for temporary consultations for specific issues within a company.
  • Contract-to-hire: A job that begins as a freelance, independent contractor position but has the potential to become a regular employee position if things go well.

How to Find Freelance Work

Animal cruelity

How are Animals Abused and Exploited in Asia?

Animals in Asia are among the most abused in the world. From bears captured and caged for their 'bile', to dogs and cats slaughtered in horrific ways for their meat, exploitation of animals in Asia is common and widespread.

Wildlife in captivityThere are far fewer laws protecting animals in Asia from cruelty and exploitation than in other continents.

This makes the work of dedicated animal welfare charities in Asia like Animals Asia, even harder, as the law is often on the side of animal abusers.

Animal welfare organisation, Animals Asia, started after our founder Jill Robinson, witnessed horrific animal cruelty on one of China's infamous 'bear bile farms'.

But today, it works on a range of animal welfare issues facing animals in China and Vietnam.

What is Bear Bile Farming?

Bear bile farming is a cruel farming system designed to extract bile from the gallbladders of living bears for use in traditional Chinese medicine.

Bear in full metal jacketSome mammals in captivity in zoos in Asia also suffer with injury and disease. Many wild animals in captivity even self-harm due to the frustration and boredom of constant confinement. Most receive no medical care and are left to suffer alone.

Most farmed bears are kept permanently in cages, sometimes so small that they are unable to turn around or stand on all fours.

Some bears are caged as cubs and never released, with many kept caged for up to 30 years.

Most farmed bears are starved and dehydrated, and suffer from multiple diseases and malignant tumours that ultimately kill them.

Bear in cageOn bile farms, bears are seen as mere production units, only worth the amount of bile they produce. Animals Asia has also seen instances of old or very sick bears – those who fail to produce bile – simply left to starve to death in their cages. Bear's bile is extracted using various invasive techniques, all of which cause severe suffering, pain and infection.

The method claimed to be the most 'humane' by bile farmers, is 'free-drip' method, where bears undergo surgery to create a permanent open passage from their gallbladder through their abdomen.

The surgery is crude, unhygienic and rarely performed by a veterinarian. This results in many of the bears dying from infections or other complications, and agony for those who do survive.

How can I start to learn Web Development ?
Difficulty Level : Easy
Last Updated : 01 Apr, 2021
How can I start learning web development? Is it easy? And how can I keep up with the latest web designing technologies?
These are the questions that appear in every beginner’s mind. There is also confusion between web designing and web development, but we’ll talk about web development.

It totally depends on how much you are interested in and are serious about it. if you desperately wanted to learn then you can easily be an expert on it. There’s nothing like it’s so hard or something like it’s so difficult to design websites like we use or look around our day-to-day life. e.g: Facebook, Google, Amazon, Flipkart, Snapdeal, and many more.

But if we really think about it, Scaring is natural, comes to mind when we look at it as a bunch of graphical elements like different colors, different kind of fonts, images, Card views, Tables, Animations, etc. and the most interesting one is the term called ‘Responsive’ websites, responsive websites are those websites which change it’s element’s alignments, spacing, etc according to the device it’s browsing.

GeeksforGeeks Courses

But nowadays it’s not a very hard concept anymore, you can easily design your website responsive with the help of some predefined libraries, we have so many types of frameworks available for designing web sites and the best thing is that it’s all freely available to use, you just need to learn ‘How to use it’. Now if you are wondering about how to learn it then just don’t worry about it. I am sharing one of the best sources available on the Internet to learn all these things freely and easily, you just need to follow it and practice it own.

If you are reading this Blog then definitely you want to become a website developer, and if you really want to become a developer.

Waw! it’s really dame true, to learn website designing web is the best place you will ever have. It will be something like you no need to study theory concepts of something first then do the practice of that, what actually we all do during our academics. You will learn the concept with the whole details about the effect of that learning. You will see all different kind of things that developed day by day and when you will observe it, you want to do it yourself which emphasis you to learn more day by day. You will be always engaged with the field you are working on. Let’s start learning Web…

Stages to follow:

Stage 1 – HTML: HTML, you have heard about it lots of times before. If I am not wrong HTML is the language you have learned in your school life. Yes, it’s actually the same as what you have learned a long time ago but as long as time changes technologies are changes. Nowadays as you have grown up, even HTML has been grown up too, now there is called HTML5 which comes into existence. What? Worried about what is it? Don’t be. I just said that as we have grown up HTML has grown up too but the difference between us and HTML is, it changed its name to HTML5. In HTML5, you can not just prepare the basic structure of the web page but we have many more things that we can do. We can store and process values on variables on-page itself without any databases as we do in any programming languages (Temporary variables), we can develop games on it. No need for the flash to play animations on it. Even we can develop a fully functional blog with HTML4 itself without any help to server-side scripting languages.

Stage 2 – CSS: We live in such a society where everybody wants to look pretty, beautiful, to achieve this everyone does makeup. Similarly, CSS does for HTML. CSS creates the beauty on HTML pages. With the help of CSS, you can make your web page colorful and smooth. You can even create animations using CSS. You can add transitions, changing the scrolling events of your pages, mouse click events and many more. But as HTML changes to HTML5, CSS also has been changed to CSS3.

Stage 3 – JAVASCRIPT: You have learned how your site will look like, you have designed the beauty of your page yet. Now, it’s turn to create some useful tasks that your web page elements will do when some activities performed on your web pages like button click events, mouse over any text, playing and pausing some animations on page, etc. With the help of JAVASCRIPT, you can do that easily. One of the best scripting languages used to make a web page more smooth, flexible and platform-independent is javascript. It’s not that easy to learn but whatever you learned at an easy level, that will be enough to do your all tasks.

Stage 4 – BOOTSTRAP: Remember the term Responsive ? Okay, let me explain to you what exactly responsive website means. Responsive websites are those sites which change its element’s alignments, spacing according to the screen size of the device it is browsing. This is the technology called Bootstrap which makes it easier to design a responsive web site. Bootstrap is an open-source front end framework that works with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to design responsive web sites for your laptops, tablets and mobile devices.

Stage 5 – PHP: As up to now you have learned about how your web page will look like, how the interface of your web page users will face. How it reacts based upon the user’s activity but only at the client machine. But nowadays we have the works of a lot perform on the back end of our web page called server. So to code on server-side we need server-side scripting language which one is PHP (Hypertext Preprocessor). We have also many more other server-side scripting languages are there like Asp.net, JSP etc but PHP is one of the easiest and most used server-side scripting languages.

How to Run PHP program on your local machine? As PHP is a server-side scripting language it must have a server to run? So how can you do that? Surely you can not afford a server to learn PHP. So don’t worry about it. We have a lot of tools available in the IT market which helps you to run PHP codes on your local machine. Following tools can be used to run PHP codes on local machine :

WAMP(Windows, Apache MySQL, PHP) – For windows machines
LAMP(Linux, Apache, My-Sql, PHP) – For Linux based machines
XAMP(X-for any OS, Apache, My-Sql, PHP) – It can work on any OS

Stage 6 – MySQL: Now it comes to databases, We have so many data available to display on the web page but we just can’t simply store them on web pages. A database management system is important because it manages data efficiently and allows users to perform multiple tasks with ease. A database management system stores organizes and manages a large amount of information within a single software application. MY-SQL is one of the open-source database management available in the IT industry. I am recommending learning PHP language instead of ASP and JSP just because it provides easiest way to connect MY-SQL database with it If you have a basic concept of C/C++ Programming languages. Even you can practice the connectivity of PHP and MY-SQL on your local machine with the help of tools discussed above.

Advance Technologies to Learn: Why should you learn advanced technologies? Obviously, this question will be arising in your mind. It’s absolutely true that you can develop a fully functional website with a well designed front end and a good performance back end but what if you want to design such a web site like Amazon, Flipkart, Google, Microsoft, Facebook, Snapdeal, OLX, etc. Those websites are not just using the above languages, tools but they use more than these technologies that I am going to explain to you as below.

Frameworks: Frameworks are built to make building and working with programming languages easier. Frameworks typically take all the difficult, repetitive tasks in setting up a new web application and either does them for you or make them very easy for you to do

Django – A full-stack framework built using python.
Ruby On Rails – A full-stack framework built using ruby.
Node.js – is an open-source and cross-platform runtime environment built on Chrome’s V8 JavaScript engine for executing JavaScript code outside of a browser.
PhoneGap or Cordova – A mobile framework that exposes native api’s of iOS and Android for use when writing javascript.
WordPress – A CMS (content management system) built on PHP. Currently, about 20% of all websites run on this framework
Drupal – A CMS framework built using PHP.
AngularJS – A front-end javascript framework
Libraries: Libraries are groupings of code snippets to enable a large amount of functionality without having to write it all by yourself. Libraries typically also go through the trouble to make sure the code is efficient and works well across browsers and devices (not always the case, but typically they do).

Jquery – Its a javascript library which makes HTML documents traversal, manipulations, event handling, animations and AJAX with a much easy to use API that works with multiple browsers.
UnderScore.js – Its also a javascript library which provides a whole mess of functional programming helpers.
API: An API is an application programming interface. It is created by the developer of an application to allow other developers to use some of the application’s functionality without sharing code. Developers expose “endpoints” which are like inputs and outputs of the application. Using an API can control access with API keys. Examples of good APIs are those created by Facebook, Twitter, and Google for their web services.
So, friends! stop thinking and start doing….

THANK YOU
